The Global Talent visa is a visa pathway offered by the United Kingdom to gifted individuals working in the fields of academia or research, arts and culture, and digital technology. In order to secure your visa, you need to demonstrate exceptional talent or exceptional promise in these areas. The key step required to obtain the Global Talent visa is securing an endorsement from one of UK organisations with expertise in your field.
This visa will suit gifted individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Please see below for an overview:
Please note that the list is regularly updated and there are more sectors that can be considered under this route.
Your need to demonstrate exceptional talent (i.e. you are a leader in your field) or exceptional promise (i.e. you are an emerging leader in your field) in your area of expertise to be eligible for the visa.
To determine whether you meet the eligibility criteria, you will first need to apply for an endorsement by one of UK organisations with expertise in your field. If your application for endorsement is successful, you can then apply for the visa itself.
Our team can help you to determine how best to apply for endorsement in your specific case. The process will vary depending on your area of expertise.
You can now apply for your Global Talent visa. Apart from the endorsement papers, you will also need a valid passport or other ID. Your partner and children may travel with you or join you in the UK, but they will need to apply separately.
It can take up to 28 days for the relevant endorsing body to process your endorsement application. Once you have applied for your visa, UKVI will usually make a decision within 3 weeks.
You can reside and work in the UK for up to 5 years, after which you can extend your visa indefinitely. Each extension can last from 1 to 5 years at a time. You may also be able to get indefinite leave to remain (permission to live, work, and study in the UK for as long as you like without a visa) after 3 or 5 years, depending on the type of your endorsement.
